GLOBAL WARNING- THE VOICE OF YOUTH
In the run up to the Copenhagen Climate change Summit in December 2009…
Plan UK have developed innovative Citizenship and Geography lesson plans and peer education materials about climate change and the COP15 Summit. Members of Plan UK’s Youth Advisory Panel can visit your school/youth group to co-facilitate a workshop on the topics. This project promotes MP visits to schools for child led debates whichPlan UK can support you with.
The project is FREE and offers the following:
FREE climate change lesson plans for Geography and Citizenship teachers and youth workers
FREE Competition for pupils/young people to go to the Copenhagen Conference in December to report back to a youth audience

Previous Development Education Project
An international development education project linking young people from 100 schools & youth groups in 12 countries to learn about, explore and act on climate change issues. The project is facilitated by Plan UK (plan-uk.org), and contributes to the organsiation's work on child and youth engagement in disaster risk reduction and school linking programmes.
The main themes of the project are:
1. Impacts of climate change – what will happen, who will it happen to?
2. Mitigation strategy – What can we do to stop it? – behaviour change
3. Adaptation strategies – How can we adapt to life in a changing climate?
UK lesson plans accompany the project, mapped to Citizenship, Geography, MFL French and Spanish curricula. A dedicated multi-lingual website (planmtl.org) showcases children's voices from around the world and international video and online dialogue have facilitated dialogue between young people.
