In October 2009 Hatty Morris ran a competition with Cool it Schools for The Big Draw at London Zoo. That week the children who took part made nearly 300 drawings of animals, all fantastically adapted to their vision of dramatic climate change.

London Zoo is now showing Hatty’s 'extreme animals', these large scale drawings in charcoal, inspired by the children's work, take us on a journey into the future.

A pig that morphs from a donkey, a penguin with talons – wild drawings, strange beasts. Yet within these imaginary creatures, drawn by Hatty Morris  and inspired by children’s imaginations, are the products and tools of new ways of adapting and evolving to change. Today, the change is often climate-driven, and animals need to adapt more than ever before.’
